C2 Proficiency was originally offered in 1913 and is a highlevel qualification that is officially recognised by universities, employers and governments around the world. It proves that a candidate has an extremely high level of English for use in academic or professional settings.
Reading and Use of English.
Remind students that the answer must consist of three, four, five, six, seven or eight words. If they write more than eight words they will not be awarded the marks. Remind them that contractions count as two words (don’t = do not). Each transformation is divided into two parts, each worth 1 mark, so a candidate may score 0,1 or 2 marks depending on the accuracy of the response.
Candidates must use the key word in their answer and they must not change it in any way. If they do not use it or if they alter it, they will not be awarded the marks. When they write their answers on the answer sheet they should only write the words that are needed to fill the gap and not the whole sentence.
