Bert’s day in the mountains.
My name’s Ben. I live in a town with my dad, mum and our dog, Sam. Last holiday, we went to see my grandparents. I love going to see them because they live in the mountains. One day, Dad, Mum and I wanted to climb a mountain. ‘You must wear strong shoes,’ Grandpa said. ‘And you must take a map,’ said Grandma and she gave me one. ‘And we must take a picnic,’ said Dad.

We started climbing. It was sunny. Sam. was very happy. He ran in front of us. It was very beautiful at the top of the mountain. Mum sat on a rock and looked at the map. Dad took some pictures of us.

We had our picnic, then I played in a waterfall and Sam tried to catch rabbits. ‘Stop, Sam!’ I said. ‘You mustn’t run after rabbits.’
