You asked how Tony's birthday’s celebration went. Will, after discussing various options, we decided on a place calling the Golden Fork, which advertises in the local paper, and also had a good review in our restaurant
guide. All I can say are that it’s not a good idea to believe everything you read!

While we arrived, the place was empty — hardly a good sign! It was also absolutely freezing and we must to keep our coats on throughout. The menu looked quite promisingly, actually hut they were completely out of lobster which was our first choice. The waiter was pretty scruffy and off-hand and we got the distinct impression he was more interested to get back to the kitchen where it was wanner! At the end, I had a steak which was as tough like old boots, with peas which were obviously tinned. Tony had some vegetarian dish which they had obviously heated up in the microwave — even so it was lukewarm.
