The aim of this dictionary is to cover as much current vocabulary as possible, as well as certain items found in standard works of Modem Spanish and English literature.
This dictionary includes items often omitted in other bilingual dictionaries—road and street signs, for example—though few things could be as frustrating (and, sometimes, as dangerous) as seeing such signs but not knowing what they mean (in this dictionary, all kinds of public notices are enclosed by the symbols « »in Spanish and by double quotation marks in English). Also, many vocabulary items consisting of more than one word have been treated here (see for instance do in the En-glish-Spanish section).
